Another new free CSS template release I designed for TheWebHub.com. This two-column, fixed-width design features a big header image from Stock Exchange and 16×16 pixel icons from FAMFAMFAM.com.

The layout is quite typical with content area arranged in a blog style format and a sidebar that can be easily ported to other blogging software such as WordPress. Handmade 1.0 is suitable for small website use or blogs.

As usual, this template is released under the Creative Commons license and you are free to use or modify it for both personal and commercial use. I only ask you to please keep the attribution links found in the footer section of the page. That’s it and have fun!

This is my first publicly released design. Not very impressive but I think this will do for those of you who want dark-themed design that is both simple and functional.

The speeding light streaks at the header was originally a photo I borrowed from NASA. While I do aspire for standards-compliant and backward compatibility, I’ve decided to stop supporting Microsoft’s Internet Explorer version 6.0 due primarily to its lack of PNG support. IE6 bugs and quirks can be easily remedied but the ways to enable PNG support in this ancient browser is just plain crazy.

So from here on forward I’m saying goodbye to IE6 while asking IE6 users to please upgrade to version 7.0 or just replace it with much better browsers like Firefox, Opera or Safari. Internet Explorer is NOT the Internet!
